Black Hole Bolognesi's short film Black Hole (11mins) has been making waves in the first part of the year in the international film festival circuit. The film Black Hole is set on The Crimson spaceship, where power relationships have been redrawn and the humans are no longer in control. An experiment to investigate new forms of life takes an unexpected turn when technology takes over. Procedures such as genetic gender transformation and cyborg implants result in a crew of hybrid retro-futuristic creations with Communication Officer Richard Gore, a computer-generated voice, at the helm. And a powerful magnetic force is beginning to drag them into the Black Hole. A master of visual seduction and ambient direction, Bolognesi's work is unnerving in its evocation of a dark adventure into an alternative universe. Black Hole has been selected for two prestigious film competitions, in addition to the nomination for 'the film of the night' at the Limelight film and arts awards in London 2009 announced in our previous newsletter, it has been announced as the winner of ‘Best Sci-fi film' at the Indie short film competition in Florida. The indie short film competition is the most innovative international short film and video competition for independent filmmakers worldwide. The short film has also been entered into the Clermont-Ferrand short film market 2009. The Clermont-Ferrand short film market is the favoured place of exchange between delegates from all branches of short film production worldwide.
