July 2009Newsletter June 2009 Marco Bolognesi solo show @ Olyvia Oriental June 25th 2009 saw the launch of Marco Bolognesi’s second solo London show, and his first at the Olyvia Oriental Gallery in St James’s London. The turn out was great, and Marco was able to showcase for this first time photography and video work from the last five years. The show will run until July 31st 2009. Bomar Edition is proud to announce the launch of Marco Boloognesi’s new website marcobolognesi.co.uk. The website is a dynamic multi-media showcase of Marco’s works in the areas of photography, film, installation and collage. The work presented spans a fifteen-year period, during which the time artist has developed and created works drawing on many personal and social influences. Symbols from various cultural contexts are combined in Marco’s images in order to develop new meanings and contexts through which the work can be understood. The website aims to mirror the diversity in Marco’s works, and the way in which the work creates new meanings and subjectivities through its aesthetic approach. For full article see here Clam Magazine Bomar Edition is proud to announce that Marco Bolognesi has been featured in the international publication Clam magazine. The interview discusses Marco’s works and life, and gives us a little more insight into the artist’s thoughts and feelings about all things related to his art. Clam magazine has been edited since 1999 and is distributed in fashion and design shops, professional fairs and internationally. Clam is a unisex magazine whose goal is to promote creativity, concepts and ideas in fashion, architecture, music, design, the arts, free-time, travels and African design. Clam magazine can be bought in select news retailers in London. There is also a website. Renderyard Online Artist Residency announced and Interview We are also pleased to announce that Marco has been selected as Artist in Residence for the next 12 months with Renderyard short film network and festival. Renderyard is a digital playground that gives filmmakers and musicians the chance to watch independent films from around the world, listen to new music, contact each other and create a strong network facility for emerging new talent. As part of this project during his residency Marco will introduce several short films to the Renderyard filmmakers forum that will allow users, for the 1st time, to interact with the film in order to develop the story, the visuals and the sound. It can be seen here ArtSlant feature Bomar edition is proud to announce that ArtSlant contemporary art network have interviewed Marco for the art section of New York online edition. The section Marco has been featured in is the Rack Room. The interview discusses Marco's influences and life, and also features images of his work to date. ArtSlant features up-to-date news on art cities of the world. According to ArtSlant, the rack room is like the back room of an art gallery where artists and art lovers hang.
